J O Hambro Capital Management Builds Momentum With Three New Hires
Executive-Search Firm Charles Sterling Group Helps Boutique Strengthen Its U.S. Presence
Boston, MA – Executive search firm Charles Sterling Group (CSG) and London-based $30 billion global asset manager JO Hambro Capital Management Limited (JOHCM) are pleased to announce the recruitment of three senior professionals to further solidify and strengthen JOHCM’s U.S. presence. This summer, Phil Dever, Michelle Donley Holmes and Jonathan Weitz will be joining JOHCM’s U.S. headquarters in Boston.
Dever, who serves as a managing director of North American client service, is focused on servicing JOHCM’s institutional client base in North America, which is a key geographic focus for the firm. He brings more than 25 years of experience in client service and relationship management, helping to strengthen business relationships and exceed client expectations. He recently was the director of client service and relationship management at LMCG Investments, and he previously held roles of increasing responsibility at Wellington Management Co.
Holmes joins the firm as vice president and U.S. marketing manager, responsible for leading all marketing activities in the U.S. Most recently, she served as the communications, media and RFP manager at The Boston Company Asset Management, LLC. Her work history also includes more than 15 years in financial journalism, with editorial positions at Dow Jones, TheStreet.com, Reuters and MarketWatch.
Weitz assumes the role of SVP, North American Business Manager, providing governance, administrative operational and investment risk oversight of the firm’s North American activities and supporting implementation of the firm’s strategic plans. With almost 20 years of experience, he previously worked as the co-director of operations and partner at Century Capital Management, LLC, as well as a head trader and equity analyst there. Prior positions include roles at HLM Management and Scudder-Kemper Investments.
“CSG has been working with Hambro since the beginning of its U.S. expansion. We have developed a collaborative partnership across all areas of the business,” said Katie Vande Water, managing director and head of the investment management practice. “With the addition of these three key individuals, JOHCM’s foundation is fully in place to grow the business and service its U.S. client base.”
Gavin Rochussen, chief executive officer of JOHCM, added, “We are very excited about our firm’s growth potential in the U.S., and we now have the right people in place to support our planned expansion. Our partnership with CSG was instrumental in finding not only seasoned professionals, but also optimal cultural fits, bringing us closer to our long-term business goals.”
